So Unique Records latest riddim driven project “Aurora Skies”is falls short of stratospheric.
Agent Sacso kicks the door wide open and launches this white hot riddim, with “Cant Hold Dem Liqour”. Blak Diamond does the project justice with “Diamonds In The Ruff” while Bugle calls for “Another Day”.
D’Angel tells us it “Cost Yuh”, and is a well written tongue cheek single. G Whizz stays blandly consistent, and the single “All Now” is carried by the infective riddim.
Jahmiel puts its all in on “Star Life” and the effort is worth the trial capping the single as one of the riddims rare notables.
Khago drops a strip club banger, with “Wine Pon Di Pole” and its a sure hit in the making. Kirk Brown’s “Prayer” is one of the projects weaker singles, and is buoyed by riddims soundscape.
Mr. Vegas makes a cameo on “Call Me”, Savage gives a presence on :a Wine De”, Shane O equates infidelity on “Bun Fi Bun”, while the Gaza Diva states she’s no “Clothes Pin”.
Stylish keeps it vanilla, while Tiana falls short on “Dem a Bawl”. Tommy Lee strikes with his auto tuned “We Want paper”, before giving the riddim a chance to shine on its own in this 16 track project.
Undoubtly the Aurora Skies is one of the year’s most innovative dancehall riddim projects of the year, but very few of its vocalist serve,The “Aurora Skies its deserved due.
